Project Challenges
Before the platform was implemented, HytchU had to solve the core problems that make carpooling hard to scale-balancing two user roles in one app, creating fast and relevant matches for both daily commutes and one-time trips, and building enough trust for strangers to share rides. At the same time, the experience needed to stay transparent on pricing and practical on routing, while ensuring there was enough ride availability across key corridors and peak hours to avoid user frustration.

Supporting both recurring office/school commutes and one-time trips (events, outstation travel), while ensuring fast, relevant matches on each route.

The Mobility Solution
To solve these challenges, we implemented a unified carpool platform with a single HytchU app (for both offering and finding pools) and a powerful Admin Panel. Configurable backend rules define max detour distance/time, matching radius, and time windows, giving control over how strict or flexible the matching engine is.
Admin can set recommended per-seat contribution ranges, caps, or formulas (distance-based), keeping cost sharing fair and discouraging commercial misuse.
